On facebook, a "chain request" is going around to post 25 random things about yourself. I thought I'd post mine here too because they took me so long to write! Here goes:
1. I met my husband, Jeff, at a Coca-Cola scholarship program our senior year in high school. I do believe in “love at first sight.”
2. I am a nerd. I am still bothered by the fact that I made a B+ in voice in college.
3. My husband is as big of a nerd as I am (See #1), which I love. (He disagrees with me about this.)
4. I love my children so much that it makes me tear up when I think about it. They are SUCH a blessing.
5. My babies were born at 36 1/2 weeks and 38 weeks, respectively. Therefore, I've never had a 40-week pregnancy. They were both completely healthy, for which I am forever thankful.
6. My little boy, Miller, was taken by ambulance from his pediatrician’s office to Children’s Hospital when he was six weeks old. (He had bronchiolitis.) Though it was the scariest moment in my life so far, God provided me with the “peace that passes all understand,” and I knew that everything was going to be okay. It was.
7. I never realized how important family was to me until college.
8. I have three older sisters (yes, I am the youngest of four girls). I LOVE my sisters and wouldn’t have it any other way.
9. I have seven adorable nephews, ranging from ages six months to almost nine years. I love them like they are my very own!
10. My biggest flaw is that I am a worrier. I wish I could be more like my children, carefree all the time!
11. I wish I could be one of those people who likes to clean. I wish I got pleasure out of mopping, dusting, vacuuming, etc. I’m not one of those people. I do like to live in a clean house, though.
12. I am very grateful for my friends. I have the best and nicest friends ever. Many (but not all!) of my best buds are English teachers.
13. Music can totally change my attitude. I love to go walking, headphones on and music loud.
14. I wish I liked to run...I was on the track team in high school, but I enjoyed eating Subway after track meets much more than running!
15. I am in the choir at church. I really look forward to church every week. I passed out in the choir loft when I was twenty weeks pregnant with Miller…during a song. It was pretty embarrassing, but sadly not THE most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to me! (You’ll be hard-pressed to get that one out of me!)
16. I can’t stand not using correct grammar. I hate ending a phrase or sentence with a preposition. I blame my mother for this, as do many other of her former English students, I’m sure.
17. My favorite day of the week is Friday. I love knowing that Jeff is going to be home to spend the weekend with the kids and me.
18. Contrary to what many of my friends think, I’m pretty shy at times. It’s hard for me to start a conversation with someone I don’t know. However, I’ve never regretted it!
19. Once I get to know you, I am an open book. It is hard for me to END a conversation.
20. I am a picky (okay, somewhat unhealthy!) eater. I like ketchup and cheese, but definitely NOT together on a burger. I pick everything off my pizza. I like Milo’s but can’t stand Milo’s sauce or onions (I ask for my Milo’s burgers PLAIN with cheese). I like Zaxby’s but don’t like Zaxby’s sauce. I eat my Subway sandwiches plain, only meat (I always get strange looks for this one). I drink way too many Cokes and Pepsis. You get the point.
21. I taught eighth-grade English for a little over a year before Maggie was born. I enjoyed teaching and will do it again one day, but I love staying home with my babies more than anything I’ve ever done.
22. My mom, dad, and husband are all teachers. My mom teaches English, and my dad and husband both teach elementary school (Well, my husband teaches 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade gifted students).
23. I grew up in Monroeville, AL, and haven’t been back since my parents moved to north Georgia. I do want to visit!
24. I was a majorette in high school, sequin suit, sprayed hair, go-go boots and all. We even twirled fire batons. My friends find all of this hard to imagine, though I’m not sure why!
25. I am a perfectionist, as evidenced by my deleting of the first “25’s” list and completing of the second one. ;)
