Sweetness

I won't lie--We have our share of sibling squabbles around here. I was just telling Jeff on the way to dinner tonight that I might have a nervous breakdown if I heard M&M argue anymore today! But moments like these erase all the other ones. Maggie was coloring Miller a picture, and he was handing her the crayons she asked for. There was a lot of "please," "thank you," and "That's pretty" being said. I hope they always love each other this much!

Silly Kiddos

On the way home from dinner tonight, the kids were crrrrazy! They were making letters out of Easter egg grass and thought it was about the funniest thing ever. We had some "silly songs" playing, and they were singing at the top of their lungs and laughing so hard they couldn't say the words. I love seeing these two have fun together. It warms my heart!

Friends are Friends Forever...

We got to have Lane and Bethany come over and play today! Their mom, Jessica, has been one of my best friends since we were fifteen. It's so fun to watch our kids get to be friends, too. Lane and Bethany have to be two of the sweetest kids ever.

I know four children who will be taking a loooong nap this afternoon (two of them already are). Here are some pics from our day...

During coloring time, Maggie made this card for Jeff.  Hehe.

All boy!

Even when Miller was a baby, people would make the comment, "He's all boy!" I used to think, "Umm, I hope so." I'm beginning to understand that comment, though. His favorite thing to do these days is sit in his closet with his toy tubs--full of "all boy" toys--Power Rangers, superheroes, cars, tractors, etc.--and play. I love to spy on him and listen to the sounds of my "all boy" little one playing..."Zoooommm...Crash!" "'Aaaah, I need help'...'I'll save you!'" Etc. :-) The other day I spied on him and he had all his Power Rangers in the T-Rex's mouth, and Batman was saving them. There's just something so sweet and funny about the way he plays. Love my little "all boy" boy! (And glad that at the end of the day, he says his best friend is "Mommmmy!") :-)

(I also have to add that there is something extremely funny about moments like last night when we went to pick up the kids from the church nursery and happened upon Maggie tying a pink lacy apron on her husky, grinning-from-ear-to-ear little "all boy" brother.)

Miller's 1st Field Trip!

Miller had his first field trip today--to Baker's Farm--and it was so much fun! He was super excited about dropping Maggie off at school and having our own special field trip day since Maggie has gotten to go on a few. It was so cool getting to watch how every little thing was a big deal for him--eating in the barn, hearing the turkeys gobble, feeding the goats, climbing on the hay, washing his hands in the trough. Oh, to be a child again! Here a few pictures from our day!
Maggie wanted to wear her field trip shirt, too. And wanted us all to take a picture together since she knew I would be taking a lot of Miller today. Silly girl. :-)

Shucked his 1st corn!

Looking at the horse and the goats

Talking to the calf. He said, "Aww, you're so cute!"

Hayride! He kept saying "Ooooh...Pretty trees! Pretty hay!"

The sign of a fun day!

Mommy's Little Helper

One thing Maggie has always been good at is helping with the housework. I wish I could take full credit for this, but I can't. She just likes it. (Go figure!) She's been making her bed since she was Miller's age...always puts her clothes in the dirty laundry before bathtime...helps me put away the clean laundry...puts her dishes in the sink or dishwasher...sometimes picks up the toys without being asked. She's usually a pretty responsible little lady. Now, if only we could get little brother on board...:-)

Chicken 'N Dumplings

Okay, I know so many posts in one day is annoying (normally I'd be lucky to make one post), but I had to post the recipe we had for dinner tonight. SO yummy.

Cheaters' Chicken 'N Dumplings:

You'll need 2 cans of chicken broth, 1 can of cream of chicken soup, 2 chicken breasts, and 6 flour tortillas.

1. Cook and shred chicken.
2. In soup pot, mix broth, soup, and chicken, and bring to a boil. Turn to low and let simmer 15 minutes. (You'll want to salt and pepper the mixture, too. I don't like pepper but used plenty of salt.)
3. Stack three tortillas and cut dumplings to your preferred size. Repeat with three more tortillas.
4. Drop tortilla stacks one at a time into mixture. Bring to a boil, then turn down and simmer for 10 more minutes.

YUM. We also make dumplings with biscuit dough (pretty much the same recipe but instead use three cans of refrigerated biscuit dough and cut into quarters) , but this recipe was much quicker than making them that way.

We had these with green beans and had Pillsbury pink lemonade cookies for dessert. Not the healthiest dinner, but very tasty. I recommend!
