Woof-Woof
Miller is obsessed with all the neighborhood dogs. Every time he hears one of them bark, he barks back. Well, today, Miller fell asleep in the car on the way home from Target. As I was getting him out of his carseat and trying to be very quiet and gentle so as to transfer him to his crib without waking him up, our next-door neighbor's dog found something very bark-worthy. Miller started barking back at the puppy...in his sleep. He never opened an eye or sat up--just did his best barking impression and then continued snoring. I love my silly little boy!

The New Toddler Bed/Big Girl Bed
I mentioned in a previous post that Miller's crib was recalled. Well, we bought some friends' no-longer-needed crib for Miller (We knew it would be a while before we got all this resolved and got a new crib) and used the voucher from the recalled crib to buy a bed for Maggie that starts as a crib and converts to a toddler bed and then a full bed. We've set it up as a toddler bed right now and will convert it to a full bed later on this year. The girl's still pretty tiny. She's been in a toddler bed since around her second birthday, but this was an inexpensive way get her a bed that will last longer. Miller's crib will convert when he needs a big boy bed later on, too. Here are a few pictures of the kids and Maggie's new big girl bed.

Daily Reminder
This post is different from the norm. I tend to get stressed over things that are really not a big deal. If you know me, you know that. :-)Here is my latest source of unnecessary stress:
Last week, we found out Miller's crib had been recalled. We are having a lot of drama getting a new crib (We ordered one last week but received invalid tracking information and have no clue where it is or when it might get to us). I have been on the phone numerous times today with various customer service reps. trying to locate the crib, and they were all puzzled and blamed the issue on someone else (Babies R Us: "It's FedEx's fault." FedEx: "It's the crib vendor's fault." Crib Vendor: "It's Babies R Us's fault."). I became very frustrated and realized that it was truly affecting our day--and not in a good way.
I prayed for God to help me get over it--to move on and recognize this for the relatively insignificant situation that it is--and this verse came to mind:
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." --Philippians 4:8
I'm going to do that today. I'm going to try VERY hard to think about lovely things, to be thankful for everything I have, and to enjoy this wonderful day I have been given with my family. Thank you, God, for daily reminders that we do not have to be controlled by the negative things in life, big or small. Thank you for giving us joy, peace, and abundant blessings!
